The Gourmet Kitchen of Chef’s Corner in Riga, Latvia

It’s not everyday that you find a hamburger that’s as succulent and delectable as Chef’s Corner does it and for sure it’s not everyday as well that you get to be served a burger with a pair of black rubber gloves to eat it with. It’s surprising at first but as you take your first bite in that juicy burger, you will be thankful that they thought of giving you a pair. Of course for the burger purists at heart, eat with your hands and enjoy each bite!

Chef’s Corner is a new entry to the restaurant scene in Riga, opened at the beginning of 2019 and had been busy accumulating awards since then. Among the 30 Best Restaurants in Latvia, it was also awarded “Best New Latvian Restaurant” and “Best Drinks”. It highlights its use of premium dry-aged beef  making the meat more tender and flavorful, which depending on the length of aging, can give buttery and nutty flavors.

Heading the kitchen is Chef Eric Livmanis who has an inclination in going for the dramatic flavors of the unexpected combinations of ingredients.

Surprise is a key element in his cuisine and it is what the designation that Chef’s Corner is marking on. According to Chef Livmanis, “Understanding the product, I can intuitively combine it with seemingly incompatible ingredients.”Chef's Corner Riga 3
