The Traditional Flavors of Lithuania at Stikliai Tavern in Vilnius

Relais & Chateaux Stikliai Hotel, housed in a 16th century building of Baroque and Gothic architectural style, is luxurious boutique hotel located in the old town center of Vilnius. French style decors create the elegant atmosphere of the hotel upon walking in. The hotel has two restaurants, the fine dining Gourmet Restaurant which specializes in French-inspired cuisine while the Tavern offers authentic Lithuanian cuisine.

Stikliai Tavern is positioned in two levels: the upper ground tastefully dressed in linens, wood, wicker and clay sculptures which represent Lithuania’s culture while the lower ground dining hall is a very distinctive medieval room with brick vaulted dome ceiling, iron chandeliers and wood, the perfect backdrop in discovering the characteristic flavors of the local cuisine.

A good place for discovering good genuine local food with emphasis on quality, the chefs use organic fresh ingredients harvested from their own farm in Dubingiai. To start with, learn about the local products with a platter of Cheese, Charcuterie and Pickled Vegetables. A plate of Zeppelin (€11), the potato dumplings with meat is a must as well as the Beer Braised Smoked Pork Leg with Pickled Cabbage and Fried Potatoes at €35 for two persons. The wine selection has some excellent entries of international labels with emphasis on French.
